TIMERshare is an online timer tool that supports time management.
It can be used without software installation from any internet-connected device (desktop, mobile, tablet, TV, etc.), making it easily accessible and shareable from classroom monitors or students' tablets.
Teachers are expected to deliver a large amount of content within a limited time while incorporating various activities that promote 'active, interactive, and deep learning.' In such active classes, it is important not only for the teacher but also for the students to be aware of the remaining time, helping them stay engaged and aligned with the lesson's progress.
One of TIMERshare's key features is its ability to share the teacher's timer with all students in real-time, allowing them to instantly see the lesson's progress and remaining time.
For example, by dividing the lesson into sections such as 'Introduction,' 'Lecture,' 'Practice,' and 'Conclusion,' and setting timers for each, students can understand what to focus on next and stay engaged throughout the lesson. During practice sessions, students can monitor their progress using the timer, which enhances their autonomy and is expected to improve learning efficiency.
The remaining time is clearly displayed using a three-color progress bar, allowing both teachers and students to quickly understand the time progression and maintain a smooth lesson flow.
The font size of the timer and title can be easily adjusted based on the classroom size or screen size, ensuring high visibility even in large classrooms and providing a clear view for all students.
TIMERshare can automatically signal with chime sounds or flashes as the timer nears its end or reaches completion. However, it recognizes that it’s not always necessary to stop students' thinking or actions abruptly, as with a typical exam ending.
With TIMERshare, you can set chime sounds or flashes at three separate points: twice before the timer ends and once at the end. This feature helps students maintain focus by making them aware of the remaining time well before the end. If needed, you can also choose not to play any chime sound at the timer's end, allowing for flexible time management.
Depending on the teaching environment, TIMERshare integrates with major online meeting tools like Zoom and Microsoft Teams through OBS Studio and similar tools, allowing timers and progress bars to be displayed directly on the teacher's screen. TIMERshare enables time management online just as effectively as in the classroom, making it easier for students to follow lesson progress from home and improving the quality of learning.
